Oh ,there alredy is/was (kind of). "A Doodle Fly". Sadly its just for iOS, so I don't even know, if it still exists. You can put an own pic as avatar, so why not a Kass or other Ying? It's very cheesy, but good for a laught.

The later yinglet related field guides are implied to be based upon Kass' research, and since the egg guides already exist it means the information is known to Ran (or will become known to Ran so that he can write them) who will then distribute the info to the citizenry.
We've already seen the resulting publication from Kass' hatchery visit, but in-comic timeline wise, I assume that information still hasn't been put to parchment and submitted to Ran since Kass has been busy with other things.

She's testing the reflect. Her job is to provide more information on the species biology from a first person perspective, with the added benefit of being just as clueless as the rest of the the house. In short, she feels she's not quite earning all the support they have been giving and this is just one step to giving back: finding out more about this weird reflex.
And lazy, always trying to skate by on the barest minimum. I didn't say he wasn't a good person. He viewed Isher as a pain and an annoyance, only originally recruiting her in an attempt to get a free ride into the castle (out of Kass' own mouth on page 8). He didn't help her get a better job until after his transformation, didn't even consider it. He only started treating Best Girl as a friend after he was changed. So yeah, Kass was (barely) a good person before but better now.
I didn't say he wanted to skate by with his friends. Just his work. Kass and Elim do make an effective team, partly because Elim covered his butt. Look at page 2, Kass didn't want to give the bandits the full spiel and just fight it out, which might have gotten one of the passengers injured. Thanks to Elim, he's been able to do just enough to not get called out for it. Panel three is her realizing it and finally trying to do right by her best friend.
Kass sort of seems like a D&D player who just realized what the solution to a really annoying puzzle or the way around an obstinate NPC is and is just like, "Fuuuuuck okay GM I know what you want me to do and I hate it, but obviously we have to do this stupid bullshit, so lets just... Get it over with." I kind of high key love it.
(Laughs quietly to self.) Hoo boy. Recently, we had a similar experience with our all black cat Sammy. My brother picked him up one day and sang to him and held him upside down like he was a kitten. After the experience, the Cat wouldn't stop meowing at my brother. So there must have been something Sammy found that he needed in the experience. Anyway, I like where this is going.
It's kinda neat that at the start of the main story (after the prologue/intro), Kass tells Elim how he'd run around to burn off energy then write down whatever. I don't know what he wrote down but considering he never mentioned any personal experiments concerning his new body, it's likely he didn't write much about anything. So, in this moment when he realizes how much special treatment he and his friends have received, he feels like he should contribute more to Ran's research by, well, experimenting with his new body.
Too bad I didn't think of that myself. I initially thought Kass was punishing himself for taking things for granted, but then I read other people's comments and thought, "yeah, that makes a whole lot of sense." I'm probably still not wrong; getting tossed like a toy I doubt is much fun.

It wou8ld probably be fair to assume that Kass hasn't really needed to do much in the way of experimentation due to the simple fact that every waking moment in that Yinglet body is sort-of an experiment. LEarning to adhere to a Yinglet's bizarre sleep patterns for example, the whole thing with clams, certain strange mental drives that are new and forgeign to Kass' formerly human mind; there's a lot to process there even before you get to the point of directed experimentation.
And that's not even getting into any writing done in regards to yinglet social hierarchy, assuming Kass has made any notes on this topic.
Point here is, don't give the lil furball too much shit for not experimenting. There's a lot to just piece together from the griound up.Even the fact that Yings lay eggs might be a strange revelation for the non-yings.

I wasn't saying it was mandatory for Kass to engage in self-deprecating acts to learn more about his yinglet-self. I was simply making the observation that aside from the stuff that he has learned, whether it became apparent to him through personal experiences or taught to him by the enclave, he hasn't willfully gone out of his way to find out more, and I understand that since he clearly hates being a yinglet (plus, what you said about there being a lot to process makes sense as well). That's why I find it interesting that now he feels the need to experiment, not because he personally wants to but because he wants to earn the help he and the others have received from House Ivenmoth by contributing more than what he already had.
What I said about Kass not writing about anything was stupid. I know he has been doing so; Page #8 and #60 are proof of that. Plus, so do the regional field guides by Ran that clearly take information from what Kass has learned while visiting the enclaves. I don't know why I thought to put that down.

Hmm, what do /we/ know so far though? about clinging/falling instinct? The yinglets can be inferred to have either tree-climbing, or given their mollusk specialized diet *diving* instincts, and Kass does need to tell Ran to have him figure that out and suggest the water and swimming reactions test.
While the tree side of things would explain the cling and think-before you-let-go aspect. Seems like Kass was really not a fan of extended "flight." So in fishing shallow waters, the cling instinct would also be a positive.
... Dunno. More the aquatic side of things if she needs to be put down every time after? And more the tree side if the tail flapping over the banner was less than chance, and cling(let) holds out.
Poor Kass is just trying to get through some shit and it keeps piling on. I am genuinely curious but hope she relaxes a bit soon.
