 It was announced that the occult horror web novel Shishou Series will receive multiple adaptations in 2016. The first will be a live-action movie, followed by a TV anime and a live-action TV drama. Details of the anime and drama adaptations will be revealed at a later date.Shishou Series was originally published on the 2channel board in 2003. It has been serialized as a manga series since the December 2013 issue of Young King OURs magazine. Futabasha has also been publishing the work as a light novel series since 2014. Both the manga and light novels have two volumes in print. Actor Mahiro Takasugi (Kamen Rider Gaim) was cast as an "image character" to portray what the series protagonist would look like. In the story, the protagonist is a first-year university student who comes from the countryside. He meets an upperclassman whom he calls "Master" (Shishou), and the two investigate various urban legends and psychic phenomena. | Sometimes going back to basics is an excellent idea and a simple yet still promising premise as this one may in fact provide for a fun and hopefully creepy series. Japan has plenty of urban legends and I hear some of them are pretty creepy so I'm looking forward to this even if it's only coming in 2016. |

I can partly understand where you're coming from but I still think you should remember a couple things about the pv. First of all, the show will only start in a year (probably over a year in fact, considering both projects come out in 2016 and the live action movie will come first), which means that they probably don't have anything consistent and ready to show in a pv. The actual series may (and probably will) look significantly more polished than this. About the live action, if I'm not mistaken, that is in there because this is a teaser for the project as a whole, which means that they used the actor in it to show how he will look for the live action role - again they don't have much ready by this point. That being said, what I think most people said looks good is the atmosphere, the vibe of the show. The pv was meant to tease just that, along with the stories the series will feature in a couple short shots and some creepy imagery. From that we may have a very general idea of what they will go for and that, in my opinion, doesn't look too bad at all. |

I'm fully prepared for this shitstorm when people realize a creepy vibe isnt enough to carry a 24 minute tv series. |
